More than a year ago, in hurricane Rita my canopy was torn off and deposited several yards away from my damaged but repairable LNC2 (the hangar was shredded and quite literally blown to the winds).  Fortunately, the Plexiglas was not cracked probably because it filled with water making it too heavy to be easily blown about or away.  The Plexiglas was substantially and deeply scratched.  Against advise of others, I used a light orbital sander to remove the majority of heavy scratches and, yes, I probably used sandpaper that was too course (225 grit to begin with in stages up to 12000 grit).  My results after much work are that the canopy is now clear but has fish-eyes throughout the reworked areas mostly on the very top of the canopy - not in line of pilots vision peering 15 degrees above or below the horizon in any direction.  Still, those x # * ; ! ^  fish-eyes keep staring down at me from on high.

 

Can any of you point me to instructions/ tutorials that might guide my efforts in removing fish-eyes or otherwise restoring clarity to Plexiglas?
