Bob: I have a few hours on my Chelton Flight Logic with a Crossbow
500 and am very satisfied. Please understand that I am still reading and
experimenting and figuring and hope to fly a coupled approach one day soon, but
the attitude display and PFD have been great. I had some installation
challenges, and calibration challenges and had a chance to work with the Chelton
and Crossbow techie folk and they both did a fine job. Sure I miss D2A
because they were very responsive, and of course they don't have any of my
money, but what I am trying to say is I think Chelton is still worth the effort,
and the 500 though expensive is a good, stable AHARS.
Glad to hear your engine is shipping--mine continues to run fine. I
have some high CHTs on cylinders 1 & 2 (higher than the rest, not too high
to fly) and so will have some fly, fix, fly ahead of me. But in general
the plane is a joy and the avionics will be awesome if I ever learn how to
operate it/them. So the msg is: After 5.5 years on my project I am
happy with the result and I am sure you will be too. hang in,
paul
