I now have a construction policy with them for my ES, with a current insured value of $160K (not updated for a while). They wanted to let me know that since, on my latest pilot update survey, I had listed the value as well over $200K, they would not be able to insure me when it takes flight, nor would they even be able to issue a not-in-flight policy for hull value. Their underwriting department now has an upper limit of $200K for all homebuilts, I was told. It was essentially an invitation to seek insurance elsewhere. !!!
