I have a sensitive antenna in my
Lancair's V-stab. I made it from thin brass sheet formed into a half-circle and
nestled into the V- stab spar just ahead of the rudder. It is a half-wave
dipole, so there is an equal upper and a lower half extending the length of
the spar. It is fed from Andrew FSJ1-50 at the center, with two 1/4" ID X
1" long ferrites over the coax near the feed point to form a
quasi-balun.
