One question for all = the Legacy=20 builder's and flyers out there with IO-550s.  I had=20 originally ordered a "remote oil door" that will allow me to open = the "oil=20 door" from the cabin in order to increase/decrease air = flow over=20 the oil cooler.   The purpose is to allow one to maintain = oil=20 temps at a high enough level during cold weather. (My Mooney = has a=20 metal plate that goes over the oil cooler for the same purpose - but it = must be=20 installed and removed by opening the cowling)

I have been told by a = knowledgeable=20 source that this is not necessary and that even on cool days Legacy oil=20 temperatures aren't too cool.  This source also suggested that = adding the=20 "oil door" restricts flow slightly and leads to increased oil temps in = hot=20 weather.

Any other = opinions?
