Also, taking a cue from Lorn where he stated he didn't find alcohol in the sample of premium that he tested, note that: 1) The EPA requires at least 40 different formulations of auto gas around the country. 2) Gas pumps I take my car to (in the Chicago area) say "Fuel contains up to 10% Ethanol" (that's from 0 to 10%). 3) In the summer, I know that Chicago and St Louis are the recipient of some of those very special EPA formulations to reduce "emissions." Who knows what the auto fuel contents are around the country in any given season. 4) The EAA-promoted MOGAS STC requires that there be less than 1% alcohol present. The alcohol/ethanol content of auto gas can vary from place to place and tanker dump to tanker dump. Considering the number of hours flown over the number of years mentioned by you in your first e-mail (300 TT/8 yrs), how much do you think was saved in fuel costs? Lets' see, 300 hrs at 10 gph, 3000 gal of which 1500 cost $3.00/gal and 1500 cost $2.00. Hmmmm, that was a savings of $1500.00 over 8 years or about $200 per year.
