Hamid,

You are so intent at proving my belief in a parachute wrong that now you are contradicting yourself in the same email. You acknowledge my belief that parachutes save lives, but not under all situations, and that there are situations that using a parachute may be impossible. But then you state I am placing all my faith in the belief that a parachute will save me in whatever jam I find myself in.

The reason for my original post is to share what I am attempting to do and get helpful knowledge from people that are experienced with this sort of stuff, not to have my beliefs attacked.

I will be attempting to install a system to release the Canopy from the front and pivot off the back and install a parachute system that is comfortable enough to wear all the time.

Another point, as for your statement  "the altitude, airspeed and equipment capability are not grounded in reality" You are making more assumptions about what I believe. Just because I point out that an Acro. pilot successfully bails a few hundred feet above the ground, does not mean I will be trying it as my first and only option. I am well aware about the altitude and speed abilities of the chute I have selected:

For the people that are knowledgeable about parachutes; I am working with a round parachute canopy that qualifies under TSO C23d. The minimum qualification conditions for C23d are slightly more stringent than C23c and significantly more stringent than C23b. I am well aware that the airspeed at pack opening is the critical factor in determining the actual performance of the system on any given deployment, and that my weight (160Lbs) is a linear factor and velocity is a square factor in determining kinetic energy, that coupled with margin of safety (typically 100-200%) The Chute I am working with is designed for high speed deployment and provides speed and weight sensitive sensitive self modulating control of the inflation process. Dick Rutan uses this system.

I think this thread should come to an end because it seams to keep turning into a personal issues and that is not my intent. Hamid and I just have strong differing points of view and do not agree on some issues, that is to be expected when one is talking about life & death. We also probably are not fully grasping all the details of each others views through email on this issue.

No hard feelings Hamid.

Happy flying!
