Hello LML gang,
I’ve received a few inquiries about the status the overhead
adjustable rudder pedals mentioned in the “Purchase a Legacy”
posting -- so I thought I just post the status to the LML. Here’s
the CAD rendering of the latest design and photos of the prototype.

viewpoint: http://www.starflight.aero/rudderpedals/
This design improves the legroom by getting (if you need it) the pedals
as far forward as the Legacy allows and by eliminating the floor boards. The
fore/aft adjustment mechanism is very smooth and provides about 7” of
travel. The foot pedals are a big 5” wide. The nicest
surprise is that you can slide your feet underneath and past them to stretch
your legs out to the fire wall (only recommended in cruise J).
Ron Jones of Legacy Innovations is on the verge of installing the
prototype set in his “Blue Streak Legacy” and flight testing it. Ron
and his team have already had a few improvement suggestions that will be
incorporated in the final design. Once the testing is complete, I’ll
order a production run for everyone who wants a set. Current
manufacturing quotes show that they can be priced competitively with the floor
mounted adjustable pedals. Right now, the prototype is about 1 lb heavier
than the floor mounted set – though the final design is expected to
remove at least that much weight. If the schedule goes smoothly, production
units should be ready by the end of the year.
