I asked this question some time ago, so you can search the Archives.  I think that the general answer was a qualified yes, provided the strip is fairly smooth and you use the right technique.  You should also be sure to fit either the Ong Debongers or the Spry Koni shocks.  I seem to remember that Bill Harrelson used a grass strip regularly.
