I sincerely appreciate your forwarding the discussions to me. Anyone who wants proof is welcome to call and ask for testimonials and or references. There is a lot of information that is available that can be sent in mail form but is not in the computer for putting out for discussion. I also find that email is an absolutely rotten format for technical discussions. It is far better to simply pick up the phone, get to the point, and provide the information requested verbally and then with followup mail. I just find phones much more efficient time wise. I also make myself available at Sun in Fun and Oshkosh where I do not leave the booth for the entire show to make sure that anyone who wants a face to face can have it. The forums I give, according to Mick Myal from Contact Magazine who runs the engine forums, are the most attended. These I also have to open myself to any and all questions. I do not have the time to patrol web sites for people discussing our engines. I am glad to answer any calls and or email that people direct to me. I basically cannot devote the hours it takes to discuss in email questions that the answers are already in writting and or otherwise verifyable. I find that 99% of the questions can be answered by telling them to "read the brochure", then call me with questions - if there are still any. I find it amazing that people will engage in discussions about the pros and cons of some product without every once contacting the manufacturer and or reading the brochures. I also have found that a great many email writters are curious, but not serious. The proof of my products and or engines is in the customers reports. I let them speak for me. Customers like Dick Perry in his recent e mail report to lancair list is a good piece of evidence. While we are an R&D operation which engages in a lot of research and testing we find that the sports aviation buyer does not want to look at or believe our tests (while major companies pay for it and use it). The vast bulk of our customers are commercial and or military constituting over 1/2 of our revenues. They do not ever engage in e mail to the sports aviation market. Yet they offer the best evidence in the form of their reports (which are available on request) as they run such high hours often flying 40 out of 48 that they reach TBO in very short periods where sometimes one engine has gone through 3 or 5 rebuilds in the last 7 to 9 years. Even the big diesel companies using our process, while having TBOs of 20,000 hrs. run to TBO quickly at the rate of over 8,000 hrs per year and their reports are our answer to how well materials hold up. I have no qualms about referring serious people to my military or major customers as the last step before they purchase. However, the head of a billion dollar operation or some Air Marshall head of operations in a military command would not be very happy with me if I posted his email address on the web for general discussion. Otherwise, articles about my customers like the Aviation Week article on Platforms International that stated their use of our engines in high altitude drones is a far better "proof" than an email from me. So the gist of this is that I am quite eager, open, and willing to answer any email but just cannot devote the time to look for my name to pop up. I do believe though that it appears from this recent flurry of email that from time to time I should post some of the new customer testimonials or results on the lancair page just to stir up the pot a little. If you have any questions about any engines please let me know. I trust that you are still considering the use of our services.
