I have my flaps on a toggle on my sticks and I love having them there. It's great being in the pattern and not having to look inside to extend or retract the flaps.
It's impossible to bump my flaps down in flight unless I move my thumb up to hold a spring loaded toggle switch down. In four years and over 300 hours, that's never happened. I have on a couple occasions, bumped the flaps up early after takeoff, but it takes a fraction of a second to notice and correct.
It's all a matter of personal preference.
