Barry,
Others on the list are better versed but I'll give 2 cents and maybe be
lucky.
Look for any loose or bent bolts/ attachments that might have changed the
geometry of the overcenter lock.
Look at the internal piston seal in the gear cylinder. If it's blown, it
would let high pressure gear up oil into the low pressure gear down side and
I think is your likely scenario. When the oil was warmer it leaked faster.
