FWIW:
In selling a process in competition to Zn arc spray, one of my key advantages was not experiencing flakes of metal in the enclosure.  The arc spray materials are prone to flaking off after aging, thermal excursions, and flexing.  Should not be a big issue on an aircraft providing all your terminations are well booted etc.

Those that do flame-spraying of plastics, as in creating a shielded enclosure, can flame-spray the inside of a cowling with a metallic coating that has a very good reflection coefficient at IR. I had a shop in Paso Robles do a small test area for me!
