Don't forget to think about reliability on this connection.
This is one of those single point failure modes. - you only have one air
inlet and you need it.
After one Airventure Cup race I saw where one of the planes had a rubber
connector fold over out of place and partially block the passage.
In fact, if this had caused an accident, the post crash fire would have left
investigators guessing forever.
