From my experience, particularly with my LNC2, it would be a wise idea to avoid stalling at low altitudes. The only way I can think of to do that is to practice stalls and stall recovery. My plane give a lot of stall warning followed by a vicious stall.

Another thought: Be prepared to accept the reality of loss of power. You've got to let it glide. Set a speed and fly it. You're not going to stay in level flight or stretch the glide. It's going down -- make yourself deal with it.
