"I have heard various figures from 68 to 72 inches"

The following is copied from Hartzellprop.com and should clarify things. F7666A-4 is the old (original) blade design for the 360 180 hp version, F7068-2 is the "new" design (1995) and was made specifically for fast glass, thus the blades have more twist. They should be a couple of kts. faster and look way cooler too (see photo)!
If you plan on buying a Hartzell prop, buy a NEW one unless you like having your hub eddy current inspected every 100 hrs.  (yes, new SB to the unaware)!
Hartzell props are HEAVY chunks of metal, so you should consider the alternatives:

aerocomposites.com (few have experience with them but lots of promises made)
whirlwindpropellers.com (even less have experience with these props, accordingly more promises made)
mtpropeller.com (lots of people have so much experience these props that their leaking blade seals are now considered a fact)

Some RV8 feller has tested various Whirlwind mills vs. a Hartzell, quite a good article, see  http://www.romeolima.com/RV8/Prop.htm

Very best regards

Propeller Model & Components:
COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
Propeller 200 HP HC-F2YR-1F/F7666A-4
Propeller 180 HP HC-F2YR-1F/F7068-2 (68" propeller)
Propeller 180 HP HC-F2YR-1F/F7666A-4
Spinner LANCAIR
Governor LANCAIR
Features:
HC-F2YR-1F/F7666A-4 PROPELLER DESIGN HAS BEEN EXISTING DESIGN FOR 180 & 200 HP CONFIGURATION SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE PROGRAM. THE HC-F2YR-1F/F7068-2 68" PROP WAS DEVELOPED IN 1995 TO INCREASE CRUISE SPEED WHILE REDUCING DIAMETER. With original 72" propeller, ground strike was a problem.

Specifications:
72" & 68" DIAMETER FOR 180 HP AIRCRAFT

72" MINIMUM DIAMETER FOR 200 HP AIRCRAFT

6 YEAR 2400 HOUR TBO

BOTH PROPELLERS ARE 2-BLADE

Restrictions:
The following restrictions apply to the Lancair 360:

For HC-F2YR-1F/F7666A-4 on IO-360-A 200 HP, "Avoid continuous operation between 2000-2350 RPM" on non-dampered engines. No restriction on dampered engines. For this propeller model on the IO-360-B 180 HP engine, "Avoid continuous operation between 2000-2250 RPM". If engine has crankshaft dampers or Hartzell C1576 inertial damper, no RPM restrictions apply.

For HC-F2YR-1F/F7068-2 propeller on the 180 HP IO-360-B,E & F undampered engines, the following restrictions apply: 1. "Stabilized operation is prohibited above 25" manifold pressure between 2300-2500 RPM". 2. "Stabilized operation is prohibited below 15" manifold pressure above 2600 RPM". These restrictions are not significant during normal operations, but were a result of the testing envelope required in the vibration survey.
