Couldn't agree with Brent more on this subject. I spent near 40 years working on the design of avionics eqipment and their installations on various military aircraft and I can attest that maybe 90% of wiring failures were realated to failed connector terminations, failed connector terminals (the dreaded "pushed pin") and the like. Spliced wires (done properly) of all types rarely, if ever, failed.
