If we built aircraft engines to the same weight-tolerance-HP as car engines, you'd do a lot of taxiing and darn little flying! We'd never get airborne. Look at the weight to HP ratio of the two types of engines. Just because it's old technology, doesn't mean that there's been anything made better! Walter
