The Lycoming spec for the O-235 and O-320 shows a maximum pressure drop of 5.5" H2O, 0.35"hg for cooling at all power levels. Typical drop is more in the 2" to 4" level. Since there is flow through the cylinders, there has to be higher than static pressure below the cylinders. I think that the pressure fluctuations shown on the ASI indicate some sort of turbulation going on; not good. I would think they should be smooth. Mine were when I monitored my duct pressures.
