Gentlemen and Ladies,  

Those of you considering a "Gold Plated" solution to the IR heat problem
for your Lancair canopies may wish to peruse the "discovery channel"
website in search of the following lead.  

While alpha waving in front of the boob box several months ago, I saw a
program on the systems developed to inhibit the radar reflection
signatures of our Stealth Bomber fleet.  As I recall,  the solution to
the canopy problem was a gold coating.  To the best of my knowlege,
their canopies are also made of plexi, so I would assume it can be
done.  I can't imagine that this is secret technology, and it may bear
investigating.  With a little information and the combined resources of
knowlege available on this forum,  I would think anything is possible.
Considering what you have all achieved so far,  I'm sure of it! Good
