It is always interesting to follow the discussions on the list that concern
safety, and opinions are all over the map.
Flying safely is like living safely. If we eat right, drink little, don't
smoke, exercise, etc., etc., we are not guaranteed to have a healthy life,
but will improve the odds of having one.
Bombing down a runway at 200 kts at 100' doesn't mean one is going to kill
himself doing so, but for some it will be more likely to happen than to
those who fly a conservative, standard, pattern.
For these reasons the debates will always be inconclusive, but stimulating
and of great value to the list readers.
