We decided not to put a remote on-off cable. Come to think of it, we ought to put a manual one on the tank for maintenance purposes. There is an on-off knob on the regulator and that will be easily reached from the front seat.
We built a platform just aft of the hat shelf for the two 12 volt batteries. Since we have the Hartzell 3-blade prop on an IO-550N, we felt the batteries should be that far aft. I'm not sure how the ES-P will compare in basic w&b to the ES. We used #2 welding cable for the two power feeds to the firewall and the two grounds. The two grounds terminate at the firewall ground plate and is tied to the engine compartment ground by a 5/16" brass stud thru the firewall. A ground strap goes from that point to the engine.

By the way, this website is managed by Rob Logan and he will give you a chunk of disk space and the use of the software if you want to set up something like we and several builders have done. It really is easy to do it.
