It really doesn't have to be that complicated.  All you need is a cone shaped hole drilled through the skin and slightly into the phenolic hard point and for the tip of the jack lifting point to also be a similar cone shape.

If the cone shaped point is all that touches the A/C then you don't have to care about an articulating pad.
