The following website has pictures of a L4P 840HP Turbine now flying with Electro Expulsive de-ice, this doesn't require another alternator.

 

 

While a demo movie is hard to find on this site, it is on the bottom of the page that you get by clicking on the "De ice Info" in the top line on this page. It shows the NASA test video of it blowing the Ice off.

 

While I'm not promoting any of these solutions I really don't think these airplanes should be flown into ice and/or can't handle much ice. Mine shows rising CHT's as the first warning of Ice. But then, I don't have to get back to work anymore.

 

Mike Custard of Advanced Aviation also has a DC powered AC system for the Turbine 4P's. I think it is 2 HP and requires lots of power. Ask him about it. 541-330-5817.
