We had been = charging at 14.2. We reset the B&C regulator to 13.8 volts and several = years and several hundred hours later everything is doing just fine. As = they say, "When all else fails the instructions are probably still in = the wastebasket." Around the shop I use a regulated power supply that = puts out 13.8 volts instead of a regular automotive battery charger.
