Mike, I have been told many rudders are 90-95%
balanced but I am not qualified to give an opinion on if this is a good
idea. If you want to balance with tungsten, I have a piece of Mallory 1000
which will clean up at 7/8 dia and is 7.0" long. It weighs 3.0 lbs and I
will sell it for $30 if that helps, send me an e-mail. This alloy is about
60% denser than lead.
