Sorry you had such a bad experience. If you don't come back grinning from ear to ear after an L-39 ride, your pilot didn't do you justice.
I've never heard anyone complain about a jet being "too smooth"...if it ain't you got big problems! No, the L-39 doesn't have gobs of excess thrust to pin you in your seat on takeoff, but it's one of the best flying airplanes around. How many jets can you do accelerated departures and tail slides in and only be a few seconds from fully recovered? Not many planes make you feel like you're moving at altitude....if you have the "need for speed" you gotta get down on the deck...

Anyway, to each their own, but if you can get a MiG ride for $1500, that's pretty amazing. The going rate for L-39 demo rides is $1200-$1800....
