National Guard pay and benefits have raised
significantly over the last ten years. If Vern is only two years away from
full retirement pay then we all should wish him the best and hope he will
be back after that for those of us who need his great depth of knowledge and
experience. Joe knows it is hard for him to lose such a valuable part
of his great company. Lancair, after 20 years, has survived and
continued to be a top player in a very small field of companies who
have "advanced-the-art" of general aviation largely because of a number of
key people like Vern. How cool is that?
Happy trails Vern,

Dear LMLsters,
I, for one, think this is a Huge loss for Lancair Kits.
Vern is a Knowledgeable, Kind, Honest, and a Responsive person that will be
impossible to replace. I can't imagine Joe B. letting this happen to the
Company and to all us loyal builders? There must be much more to Vern's
departure than my old Air National Guard unit the 142 nd. I do feel a personal
loss here and feel I should make this known and wish Vern the very best.
Sincerely,
Jim Hergert N6XE (An
