Two things, Rich. First, go to the hardware store and purchase a tube of
"Household Goop" (so help me, that's the brand name!) Put a couple BB
sized dabs of the stuff behind the gear indicator switches, then run
the screws down snug with a little Blue thread-lok, and the switches
will stay where you put them. "Goop" allows for adjustment in the first
5 - 10 minutes and then bonds as tight as an ex-wife to an alimony check
but will allow removal (probably would require a sharp blade of some
kind - I would use a single-edged razor if I ever had to remove my
switches). Got almost 500 hours on ol' 235SP and have never had my
switches come loose.

Second, the controllers might not get so riled up if you pronounced the
phonetic part of your call sign "....Zulu Romeo" instead of "....Zulo
Romero" - probably throws those guys who must go by the book so rigidly.
Besides, they probably get upset because they think they're talking to a
movie star or some such!

Cheers,

Dan Schaefer
