Often, the heat soaked engine mounted fuel pump will vaporize fuel and
cavitation will ensue - thus denying fuel to overcome the vaporization in the
spider and injector lines.
Good luck with a Lyc, but Continental I/O engines are equipped with a
return line at the throttle body, so.... a highly effective procedure is to keep
the mixture at idle cutoff, throttle closed and run the boost pump for SEVERAL
minutes to use the cool circulating fuel to rid the main lines and engine pump
of heat. Then proceed as though you can get fuel to the engine.
