Before you toss that much green down a rat hole I would strongly recommend that
you talk to some current and previous owners of what has come to be known as the
"Darkangle" system. Jim Rahm, a former proponent of Darkangle's finally said
"Enough!" after the system locked up during the race without indicating that it
had failed. Jim said he flew for 60 miles before he realized that the Darkangle
had no idea where he was. Despite this, his piloting skills and his Enginair V8
still got him to the finish line first. Shortly thereafter ON THE RAMP at Oshkosh
he tore out the Darkangle system and replaced it with a Sierra Flight Systems EFIS
2000 (www.sierraflightsystems.com).

I confess that because my company, Regan Designs, designed the hardware for the
EFIS 2000 my opinion should be considered biased. But even if you assume that I am
wrong, you owe it to yourself to talk to current and former Archangel customers
and to check out the EFIS 2000 system. Caveat Emptier and all.  If you are still
intent on the Archangel system after that let me know and I am sure I can find you
a used one cheap.
