With the recent discussion of containing fuel during a crash, has there been any thought of getting rid of the fuel prior?  My thoughts are along the line of a very quick way to dump remaining fuel out of both wings prior to impact.  I'm not an engineer, so I'm only guessing here,  but shouldn't be possible to devise something that would open a large (8" x 8"?) holes in the bottom of the wings?  Perhaps a extra emergency vent also?  This way, once the decision to dump fuel has been made, it would only take seconds. Between not having fuel aboard, and better restraint systems, the safety of Lancair off airport landings could be increased significantly. No flame suit on, (why would I need one? (-: )
