Thanks for the "reflections".  I know many of us are puzzled by the unsuccessful handling of an emergency because, usually, we have no information about where the sucking whirlpool of Hades had non-reversible consequences.

 

What's good is to read about successes - positive information about how one might succeed is more than useful than the unknown peculiar quirks of the mind that led to failure - lethal failure.

 

More importantly, as you point out, land ASAP when anomalies manifest themselves - other than strange engine noises during night flight, center finger images forming from flight thru fog and sloshing sounds generated by flights over water.
