Posted for "Gerry Gould" <gould1@wn.com.au>:
I have heard that the reliability of the continential for the 4p leaves
something to be desired.I have heard that its struggling to get 1600hrs and
I know of a couple of turbo failures in australia from ice. Is this a
reliable engine? I have also heard that quite a few people are increasing
the tank capacity by making the wings completely wet ie to the wing tips
(if you have winglets) and to the rear spar just short of the aileron bell
crank. A figure of 460 litres (125gal) all up has been quoted. Is this
common?
Thanks for your help
