My friend has flown about 5 flights in his new 360. When he extends his
flaps, he gets an extremely large pitch down moment. We're at a loss to
explain why.
The moment is large enough that he has yet to extend the flaps fully. All
his landing thus far have been at 10 degrees or less. He slowly extends
them until the stick forces get so high that they worry him.
Both my friend and I are experienced test pilots who understand aerodynamics
and flight control systems. Neither of us has an explanation, but I'm
hoping one of you has had a similar incident. Have any of you experienced
anything similar? Any ideas out there?
