The only future thing where you may need some extra skin at the BL-50 rib
is when you are finishing your plane prior to painting. Eventually you will
want a nice 1/16" gap between the inboard and outboard skins. My gap was a
little too big by that time and I had to build it back out with flox and
other fillers. (I used a waxed piece of .062 aluminum to establish the
finish gap between the wing sections.)

OTOH, you can't leave the skin overly long, because it will bump into the
outboard wing skin when you get to fitting it to the inboard.

I'd recommend leaving maybe 1/8" extra for now, then trim that back as
required when you go to fit the outboard skin.

As a general policy, TRIM NOTHING UNTIL YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO!
