Was one of the lucky ones to leave early just before the downpour socked in the field for two days. Showing my age going back to '77 when I was carefree and left with no plans on a Friday night on a red-eye to ORD and rented a Toyota station-wagon. By the time I reached the outskirts of Milwaukee I could see the sleeping accomodations were slim. Thought of a blanket and the back of the wagon for a few days. Fortunately as I entered the main gate there was the hospitality booth. I immediately was given the name of someone in Oshkosh who was renting rooms. Had a wonderful time that year. Might someone check with EAA-HQ and see if they already have names of persons wanting to rent to some aviation nut for a few days to week? EAA-HQ may already be compiling persons who have contacted them for renters. Just my two cents. Sorry I can't make it again this year.
