I have a Reiff pan heater as well as the cylinder heating bands.  I have been very happy with its performance.  I can get about 60 degrees difference between ambient and engine temperature.  I use cowl plugs and a blanket on top of the cowl.

I have the same pan and cylinder heaters on my GlaStar's Lyc IO-360.  Left on overnight, it starts in -15 deg F like it's a summer's day.  Easy on the engine and the batteries.
