I went to look at a TKS installation last weekend. The main wing leading edge wasn't as bad as I thought. It pushes the = leading edge about 3/8" forward and curves back to meet the existing = edge. So it's a slightly smaller radius. The horizontal stab, however, is quite changed. The TKS strip is at = least an inch in front of the original leading edge with a = correspondingly smaller radius. I would expect in both cases that the stall speed would be increased but = the more dramatic change to the horizontal stab is concerning.
