Anyway, you asked about the DR-5 resin used as a bonding dhesive. Yes, it's very good stuff. The peel strength is very high compared to single phase resins like West System and Jeffco. A higher strength epoxy designed for bonding is the DRXTHX (I think that's right). I use it for all critical applications of adhesive and the "THX" designation means it has been thickened to make it thixotropic. Itis still a bit prone to sag but hangs well for medium thick bond lines. Extra thixotrope like "cab-O-Sil will make it truly thixotropic and hang on anything as a paste. It has a higher bond strength than the DR-5 and DR-7 resins. The Hysol though is the highest. As to whether it will work, I would say it should. It will distribute the loads better than the screws called out and basically anything that the Jeffco can do, the DR-5 and -7 can do better. I don't know about the "poly Epoxy" from Aircraft Spruce but if I remember correctly, isn't that a toughened (2 phase) epoxy? Note that all 2 phase epoxies are toughened but not all toughened epoxies are two phase.
