I used the UMA bezel light rings and the UMA light strips under my glareshield.  I bought unlighted instruments when possible.  The UMA bezels all match for color and brightness.  I have one dimmer for the bezels, and another for the glareshield strips.

 

One thing the UMA insists on is that you twist the wires coming from the transformers.  Since they are AC, they can create noise.  I think UMA even mentioned a minimum number of turns per foot on the wires.
