My = impression is that a lot of sharply pointed ends help with static = discharge. That said, I was just at an air expo where I saw a couple of = planes with static wicks made of just a piece of multistrand wire, maybe = 12 ga, with the aft 3/8" stripped. Would they work? Dunno, but you'd = maybe risk a quarter to find out.
