When I saw the cowl, sitting on my ramp in front of my hangar, it was different than described in the PS piece you quoted. The ADI is for the induction air and the spray bars are not for the cylinders. The spray bars are for the intercoolers and maybe the oil cooler. Typically 20 to 30% of the drag on a piston engine is from cooling. Nothing unusual there. Regards, George
