Has anyone installed an alternative and where might one get one--a search
through aircraft spruce has only thrown up one system..

Beside my gear lights, I've got a little SPDT switch labled N D (night day). In the day position the lights get bus voltage. In the night position, a resistor is inserted to give me a dim light. It's worked very well instead of the mechanical iris.
