Previously I suspected it was at least partially open. What is bizarre is that everything closes just fine on the ground. That is why the mechanics are at a loss to explain the behaviour in the air. I've been given to understand that there is a spring to assist door opening (the rather obvious spring one sees on looking into the wheel well attached directly to the door). Is there also one to assist door closure? Gerard
