A while later one of the members thanked me and explained how - using = the book - had tried it and become a self taught formation pilot. I've = been more cautious since. Flying formation is like flying instruments. A little ability is dangerous. A little currency is also dangerous. The military has to have formation pilots to fight a war so they get = lots of training and are kept current. Those of us on the list who have done that have not said that anybody = else can't do it. Some years ago I shared some Air Force = manuals on=20 formation with members of my local EAA chapter.
