Ken, The CG model...is it commercially available or your own Excel spread sheet? I would be interested in such.  Finally, where on the firewall will the batteries fit or is this hypothetical?  Problems with heat?

Bob Pastusek-thanks for prior comments-I'm a mechanical engineer however I don't feel confident in my knowledge base to move the engine forward.

<You betcha, they do tend to get tail-heavy.  Working with a CG model, I was able to get my 'min. fuel, pilot only' CG to within a half-inch of the forward limit by such things as using Hartzell vs MT prop, putting my two batteries in the engine compartment, and just generally placing all heavy items as far forward as practical.
