Lancair has generated SBs and they are well documented and summarized in a number of locations but remember that your are the manufacturer not Lancair. There is another reporting device that ties into the SB and that is the Service Difficulty Report. SDRs are submitted by you. SDRs may result in a Lancair generated SB. The SDR program has been discussed many times in this forum as recently as this week and other forums too. We discuss this program at the Oshkosh builders and flyers forum and I harp about it frequently. In the case of the IV flap rod interference problem, there are three previously filed SDRs that are available to anybody who looks. The SDRs were filed on 8/97, 6/97 and 11/95. Are you reviewing the SDRs? Are you participating in the SDR Program? SDRs can be filed by contacting (612) 474-4154, SDR@Lancair.net or Lancair Network News 950 iris Circle Excelsior MN 55331. A complete listing of SDR and SB summaries can be downloaded from Marve's site as well as ours at www.lancair.net. Waiting for someone else to tell you what to do (Lancair SB) is not taking your piloting responsibilities seriously. Of course, you should comply with the Lancair geneated SBs. But, review the SDRs! You are the manufacturer of your craft and you can create your own SB any time you feel it is required. You do not have to wait for Lancair Intl. to do the SB for you! Please participate. We will assist by keeping the SDR list posted and current with your continued input. BTW. If you download the SB and SDR list to a file, you can do searches for key words. Try searching for "FLAP".
