Removing the canopy is a breeze if you have a removable forward deck.  It
needs two people and some old carpet on the ground.  After removing the
attachments for the forward deck and the gas struts from the canopy (support
the canopy with som foam rubber so you cab get your hands under the rear),
gently lift deck and canopy together but allow the canopy to settle in to the
"closed" position supported by the forward deck.  In this manner it can all be
lifted away cleanly by two people and laid gently on the ground.  Remember
that there are connections to fuel tank (if you have one) and that these need
to be disconnected and protected.

I take mine off for each annual so that I can inspect brake cylinders and the
large fuel filter.  It also gives superb access to the rear of the panel.

 Good luck!
