>>Has anybody installed the superior coposite oil sump in a IO 320/360?
Does it fit under the cowling?<<

Christian:--

I have installed the Superior "light-weight" sump on my XP360 engine. It fits under the cowling fine, but it is quite a bit deeper than the conventional sump and the Lancair exhaust won't work with it. We built a custom exhaust, with the pipes running between the intake runners and the sump. Rather complex, a tight fit and overall a PITA. Had I known what I was getting into I would have put the standard sump and exhaust on the engine.
